Arguing With The Author

Not once have I read a novel and argued with the author. Never have I debated with them on the characters they chose or the situations the characters endured. I simply read the book from cover to cover and accepted the outcome.

Hebrews 12:2 says, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Nevertheless, I find myself arguing with the author that has written my life story.  I don’t like the situations He wrote into my story. Sometimes I don’t like the people! And my life becomes a series of conflicts because I am fighting the author.

How ridiculous is that?

Lord, I surrender. I give you control of my life. I admit that I am scared because trust doesn’t come easy. People have let me down and I am afraid you will too. Sometimes I equate you with the people that have hurt me and I am sorry. I get so caught up in my own issues that it seems I am in a riptide getting sucked under and flail in fear. But Lord you wrote my story. You know how it ends. Forgive me for arguing with you. I’m letting go Lord. I am handing you the reins of my life. I believe you Lord, just help my unbelief.     Dana

Wow! What a great perspective! And He is much wiser than any novelist!
