If I Had Three Wishes

If I had three wishes they would be:
1.     Nobody would ever have to feel grief.
2.     Everybody had a relationship with Jesus.
3.     Eternity would begin today.
I wish nobody had to ever feel grief.
Recently while my husband and I were standing outside ICU doors, they suddenly burst open and a family practically fell out the double doors racked in grief and pain. An older gentleman’s agonizing sobs could be seen as well as heard. His adult son threw his hands in the air and shouted, “My God! Why?” as gut wrenching cries enveloped him. The adult woman with them stood silently with tears streaming down her face.
Grief renders us breathless. It hits our hearts and leaves us vulnerable. Pain, confusion, sorrow and anguish erupt like a volcano of emotion. And it hurts like nothing else.
Last night four nieces and a nephew watched as their Dad took his last breath. My heart hurts for them. And I wish I could take away their grief.
I wish everybody had a relationship with Jesus.
Death has affected me more in the last two years than in my entire 55 years of life. The pain and agony of the unknown is tormenting. Many do not know what to expect at death, what really happens or what we do next.
The Bible is clear that a wide chasm erupted when Adam and Eve sinned. But because of his GREAT love for us, through Jesus Christ, God bridged that chasm. Today we have the awesome opportunity to walk with God. But he will not force us to take that step. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, and no man comes to God expect through him. The invitation is there. We just have to receive Him and our name is written in the Book of Life.
Death raises speculation, questions and confusion. But it doesn’t have to. That’s why I wish everybody had a relationship with Jesus. The Bible also says, “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”

I wish eternity would begin today.
Disturbing, is the word I would use to define life today. People turning from their faith because satan has turned up the heat. He knows his time is short.  With this outpouring of evil, I believe the world has turned a corner that has set the end in motion. Matthew 24, 2 Timothy 3 and 1 Thessalonians 5 are unfolding before our very eyes.
I can hear the voice of Crystal Lewis as she sings out her awesome song, “People Get Ready – Jesus is Coming – Soon we’ll be going home…… I hope you are ready!
I wish Jesus would come back today. I’d like to be reunited with those who have gone before me.
