YOU ARE SO FULL OF IT……

Did I just say that?

Yes, I did. And if I was a betting woman, I would bet that you instantly interpreted “it” for a derogatory word, didn’t you?

Go ahead admit it. It really is okay because that is what we are accustomed to. We memorize little phrases that are imprinted in our brains and we automatically finish a sentence. For example:

·       When life hands you lemons………

·       It’s raining…………..

·       A bitter pill to………..

·       Read between the ……………

·       Between a rock and ………………….

·       Born with a silver spoon……………….

·       Speaking of the………………..

So forgive me if I offend you but I need to define the “it” in the first phrase to prove a point. You are so full of crap, is the most known connotation of this quote to put it mildly.

The words one is saying are dishonest and are exaggerated, therefore are being deceptive by lying.

When I asked someone to define the expression, they answered that it meant you are so full of yourself. That your words come across prideful, arrogant and selfish therefore everything is about you.

Full – means overflowing; no spare room, completely filled to capacity, bulging, packed, complete, maximum, stuffed, bursting, gorged.

I began contemplating….. what am I filled with?

Am I:

·       full of myself…

·       full of sin…

·       full of mischief…

·       or full of fun?

Do we have the choice of what we want to be filled with?
Yes, we do. What do you want to be filled with?

My choice is to be full of and overflowing with the love of God.

O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. Psalm 86:5
