I Trust You, But….

By Dana Rausch / March 10, 2015

As the recipient of many pranks, my husband doesn’t trust me easily. He no longer asks me to make his sandwiches in fear that I will leave on the cheese wrapper. Or put in a bag of half eaten cookies. He thinks twice before walking into a dark room that I have entered minutes before. […]

Washing My Mouth Out

By Dana Rausch / February 23, 2015

Standing in line, I was waiting for the next available cashier. An elderly couple walked in front of me to look at the shelf of men’s polo shirts. Suddenly she blurts out to her husband, “What the _______! They are right here you dumb _____! He slowly saunters over and doesn’t utter a word. I […]

HOSPITAL CALLS

By Dana Rausch / February 16, 2015

A friend has spent days in the hospital alongside her husband. It’s been a bumpy ride for them. A roller coaster of emotions has flooded her mind. I went to the hospital simply to give HER a hug. Why? Because I KNOW from experience the loneliness, fear and thoughts that can consume our minds during […]

WHERE… is your God now?

By Dana Rausch / February 9, 2015

As a young teenager someone asked in a cynical tone, “Dana, why would YOU become a Christian? YOU have always been a good person.”  Insecure and immature, I was rendered speechless for I didn’t know how to answer. As a young adult a relative called me out on something I had said about the Bible. […]

Soul Searching

By Dana Rausch / February 2, 2015

The keys were nowhere to be found. I looked everywhere. I backtracked all my previous places to no avail. I turned things upside down and inside out. Did someone take them? You Can Be Sure Of This

By Dana Rausch / December 11, 2014

If you had asked my kids when they were young, which Bible verse reminds you of your mother, I know which one they would have chosen. The one I quoted most often. Why? Because it was a verse that proved itself true time and time again. It would have been Numbers 32:23. “…Be sure […]

Love and Acceptance

By Dana Rausch / November 20, 2014

The chocolate lab puppy had paws the size of my hands. They were prominent on his chubby frame, rounded face and short stocky legs. His name was Jack. “If you ever breed him, I want one of his puppies,” I said to my friends. They called two years later. They had puppies! I visited their […]

And The Winner Is….

By Dana Rausch / October 27, 2014

My son’s state championship football game was ready to start. Both teams were geared up and anticipating a win. The bleachers filled and excitement mounted. The opposing team won the coin toss and chose to receive. The football was kicked as the game roared to life. They scored and then scored again. First quarter ended […]

Uprooted and Replanted

By Dana Rausch / October 13, 2014

Recently a tree in our front yard was removed. It had become top-heavy and leaning over. The roots were beginning to rip through the ground. Although it had served as a shade cover and been the home for many bird nests the tree needed to go. There are times a tree needs to be uprooted. […]
